Acne has been my struggle and main focus for three years now. I started getting acne my sophomore year of college and have been struggling ever since. Things have kind of worked for me but nothing to the extent of these two products I’m about to share. You can find out more about my acne journey on my YouTube channel. I have a full video explaining my story as well as how these products help me! Check it out here! (I also have a ton of other acne related videos on my YouTube channel if you are struggling)
I have been implementing these two products into my skincare routine for the past month. Check my skincare routine out here!
Shocked is all I can say to describe how I feel about the results. NOTHING has worked like these products and I just want to shout it from the rooftops!

DIFFERIN
Differin was something I heard about from a few of my followers on YouTube and Instagram. I also heard about it from commercials since it is now available to purchase without a prescription. It is basically a Retinol cream that helps with skin cell turnover. This will help with clogged pores and man I had a lot of those. My cheeks have always been my problem area. No matter what, I always had bumps of clogged pores right under my cheekbones. This is also where I have the most scarring because of all the breakouts.
This product has changed that completely! I now have very very minimal clogged pores on my cheeks, forehead, and chin. Basically my whole face. I know that’s kind of nuts but my acne and clogged pores were everywhere. Now my skin is so flat and I couldn’t be happier!!

BALANCE
So Differin definitely helped the skin cell turnover process but Balance is what REALLY changed my skin! (or at least that’s what I believe) Since taking Balance for the last 30 days, I haven’t gotten a cystic breakout in about 10-14 days. I am not completely sure exactly how long but I know it’s been a while. From someone who got at least five cystic breakouts per week, this is LIFECHANGING. My skin is glowing, clear, and just happy. I’m happy too obviously, but my skin just feels balanced. I know that is so cheesy, but I really believe that is the perfect name for this product.
I decided to take balance because of all the amazing results people were getting after taking the product. It has helped so many people with cystic acne so I decided to give it a go. You can read more about the product on the Alani Nu website and their Instagram, but it is basically made to balance out your hormones. Many people struggle with hormonal acne and I believe that my acne was always hormonal. I knew my hormones needed to be balanced out so I thought Balance was a perfect fit and it was!
I am over the moon about my results and couldn’t recommend these two products enough!
Like I said, please feel free to check out the rest of my skincare routine and other acne videos on my YouTube channel. Also stay up to date with my free beauty content by subscribing to my newsletter!
Thank you so much for all your support! I hope this posts helps you. 🙂
Thank you for this helpful post!! Since this blog was published, are you still taking balance and seeing the same results from it? Or do you feel it stopped working? Thanks!
You’re so welcome! I am not still taking balance because my skin was at a good place and I wanted to see if I could go off it. Since it is a huge price tag, I wanted to experiment. I have been off it for a few months and my skin is still mostly clear. I do get a few more breakouts and a little more congestion on the skin but it is no where near the cystic acne I had before. I will probably start taking it again in the next few months just because I loved how my body felt and my skin glowed while taking it. Also it never stopped working for me. Results got better and better the longer I took it. I hope that helps!
