HOW TO LOOK CHIC ON A BUDGET

Everyone wants to look chic, but it can get pretty pricey. So how can you look chic on a budget? Is it possible? ABSOLUTELY! There are so many ways to look like you are expensive when you actually spent $20 on a pair of jeans. I want to share with you all the tips and tricks I’ve found to get things for less, but still look like the girl boss you are.

First we need to establish what types of pieces you will be purchasing before even thinking about getting them for cheap. You want things that will be more timeless than trendy because these are the pieces you can usually get on a budget. 

 

NAIL THE BASICS

Basics. Basics. Basics. I can’t stress that enough. If you can get  v-neck t-shirts and dark jeans that flatter your shape and that you love then you will be better for it. Some more of my favorite basic pieces are black leggings, slouchy sweaters, and white sneakers. Can’t get much better and comfier than that!  Oh and diamand studs (of course not real diamands lol) are a must have basic for me.

ACCESSORIES

Who doesn’t love accessories?! If you are someone that doesn’t then this whole post isn’t for you. I basically live off accessories. I honestly believe that accessories can make an outfit. I am the type of person to throw on leggings and a v-neck (which is the ultimate boring outfit on its own) and dress it up with one or more of the following:  a scarf, gold earings, a hat, a leather jacket, a sweater, gold rings, a necklace, a purse, cute shoes, a watch, bracelets, etc. Honestly the options are endless. Accessories also portray your mood completely. I could be cozy with a hat and a scarf or more girl boss with a leather jacket and all the jewelry.

ALL THE GOLD

If you don’t like gold, no big deal, but I LOVE gold and I am convinced it makes everything look expensive.

I went through a phase there where I wanted nothing gold, but now I’m like “give it all to me now!” There’s just something about gold embellishments on shoes, bags, or just plain gold jewelry that makes me feel so good and chic. Is it just me? Maybe, but you better know that I’m going to go all out with the gold. One of my favorite combinations is gold and black, especially on shoes and bags. I can’t get enough!

CONFIDENCE

This one might sound weird, but it is the truth for sure. Confidence will make you look chic, cute, happy, adorable, amazing, basically whatever you want people to think of you. If you are confident in your looks and you love the way you look, people are going to notice you and say “she has her sh** together. lol

SALES ARE YOUR PALS

Finally we can start talking saving money! You want to look chic on a budget but you night not know where to start.  This step has to be self explainable, but for real look for a sale. I am one of those people that immediately goes to the clearance rack when I go shopping in store. Well who am I kidding, I do it online as well. One of my FAVORITE things to do is find good pieces for a deal. If it is a staple item such as jeans and you want to spend more on that, then be my guest, but I’m the type of gal who always wants a deal.

Accessories such as jewelry, hats, scarves, etc are where you want to get a deal. Jewelry from places like Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, and Claire’s are some of my favorites because they’re cheap. Yes the rings might turn your hands green and not last as long, but I really don’t mind because I loose my rings ALL the time. Also these places have soooo much gold jewelry and as we know from above, I LOVE GOLD.

SAVING MONEY STRATEGIES

  1. Look for sales on Holidays, End of Season, and Store Anniversaries
  2. Shop Online (SO many more deals happen online)
  3. Use Ebates! (get cash back just for shopping!)
