I thought it would be fun to have you get to know me a little more by sharing 22 facts about me! I recently turned 22 so I thought that was a fitting number. 🙂 I did a full video going through these facts on my YouTube channel if you would rather watch me talk about them go here.

I want you to know the person behind the Emily Freybler blog and YouTube channel so I thought it would be really fun to share some random facts about me. Here we go!

1. LOVE SOUR CANDY

I especially love Sour Patch Kids! They are probably my favorite sour candy, but sour belts are probably my number two. I don’t know why I love them so much but there’s just something so delicious about them that makes my mouth water just typing this right now!

2. MY FAMILY ALL GRADUATED FROM MSU

My entire immediate family (My mom, dad, sister, and I) all graduated from Michigan State University. My dad basically brainwashed my sister and I when we were younger by taking us to MSU football and basketball games, teaching us the fightsong when we were super little, and buying us MSU gear from the bookstore. I basically came out of the womb saying GO GREEN!

3. MY BIRTHDAY IS MAY 31ST

I am a gemini and was born on the last day of May!

4. MIDDLE BLOCKER IN HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

I played high school volleyball on two Michigan State Championship winning teams. My high school won 9 State Championships for Class D in a row and I was part of two of them. I am only 5′ 6″ but can jump very high so I was able to block a lot of the taller girls. It was so fun to see their faces when they saw how short I was and then after I blocked them. Lets just say, they were surprised. lol

5. GRADUATED COLLEGE IN 3 1/2 YEARS

It was a tough journey but I am so glad I did it. I came into college with 13 credits and took a few summer classes to graduate early. If I didn’t take the summer classes, I would have only had a few credits my last semester. It just didn’t make sense to stay for a whole semester when I could just take a few summer classes and graduate early.

6. CAN’T STAY ONE TEMPERATURE

I don’t know why, but I can’t regulate my body temperature very well. I’m either really cold or really hot. It’s very annoying!

7. MET MY BOYFRIEND AT 14 YEARS OLD

Caleb and I met when I was 14 and he was 15. My cousin actually introduced us because my cousin and Caleb went to the same high school. From there we talked on and off until my senior year of high school when we actually started dating. Now we have been dating for 5 years. 🙂

8. LOVE GOLD

Gold jewelry and accents are my favorite. I think it makes everything look classy and chic. I love taking an old lamp or knob and spraypainting it gold to give it a refresh on a budget.

9. LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY

Ever since I can remember, I have loved taking pictures. I had digital cameras growing up that my friends and I would use to take hundreds of pictures. My dad taught me how to use his DSLR camera to take photos of my sister playing basketball and volleyball. That was so fun for me. I loved it so much that I took two community college photography classes my senior year of high school. One was digital photography and the other was film photography. The film class was so cool because we learned the entire process of developing film in a dark room. It was a lot of work but so fun and rewarding.

10. 8 PETS GROWING UP

Not really growing up, but in my lifetime I have had 8 pets (9 if you count my sister’s dog). Princess (cat), Shadow (dog), Little Lady (cat), Playful (cat), Addy (dog), Lily (dog), Leo (cat), Luna (Caleb and I’s dog), Simba (my sister’s dog).

11. NO MORE COFFEE EVERYDAY

Quit caffeine 2 months ago. I occasionally have it now maybe twice a week instead of every day. I like how I’m not reliant on it now and can wake up and be alert. I don’t feel groggy all the time either.

12. TRAVELED TO 18 STATES IN THE US

I’m not going to sit here and name them all, but I have traveled to 18 states all because my parents love to travel. They both have traveled a lot for work and love to see different places so they passed that on to me and my sister.

13. FAVORITE FLOWER: LILY

My favorite flowers since I can remember so much so that I named my chihuahua, that I got in 6th grade, Lily.

14. I SLALOM WATER SKI

I have been water skiing since I was very little because I grew up going to my family’s lake house. We would always ski and I eventually learned how to slalom. I love the thrill of cutting so close to the water and feeling like I’m about to wipe out, but then I pull out of it with a huge smile on my face. There’s nothing like it.

15. LOVE SALTED CARAMEL

I know it’s basic white girl, but I love anything salted caramel. Ice cream, chocolates, hot chocolate, cookies, you name it, I love it.

16. GRADUATED WITH 36 PEOPLE

I went to a very small private Catholic School from kindergarden all the way to high school. I believe 12 of the 36 people went to the catholic school since kindergarden with me so we all knew each other very very well. It was an interesting experience and I wouldn’t change it for the world, but it was definitely not like most people’s high school experience.

17. VERY LOUD PERSON

I can be very very loud, especially when I’m around friends and family. My family talks over each other/screams because everyone talks over everyone. I am very talkative person in general, but when I’m around my family it’s to a whole new level because everyone is talkative. Lets just say that Caleb was a little overwhelmed when he was first around my whole family. lol

18. LOVE ROLLERCOASTERS

There’s something about the thrill of rollercoasters that I love. The dropping of my stomach and the rush of air that makes my face fly back is so fun to me. I have always loved thrill (ex gymnast over here) and rollercoasters give me such an adrenaline rush that makes me want to do it over and over again. If you have never been to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, you need to go now!

19. IRELAND WHEN I WAS 2

My dad was working there for 3 months and my sister, mom, and I stayed with him for a month in the middle. I of course remember nothing because I was 2 but I really want to go back someday. My dad always says how beautiful it is and he goes back a few times a year still for his job.

20. OVER 50% POLISH

My mom is 100% Polish and knows now because she did a genetic test and it came back 99% Polish with a low 1% somewhere else. I also know my dad has some Polish in him too!

21. LOVE SURPRISES

I love surprises but I also have to know everything. This makes it very hard for anyone to surprise me because if you’re on the phone with someone I have to know what they are saying on the other side.

Caleb, my boyfriend, tried to surprise me by coming home to see me play in the volleyball state finals my senior year. He was going to Northern Michigan University at the time and it was an 8 hour drive home. He was going to be coming home for Thanksgiving which was the week after the state championships so it just didn’t make sense to make the drive twice (or so he was telling me). Long story short, Caleb ended up telling me over FaceTime because I was crying since he couldn’t come see me play my senior year. I then called down to my mom who was downstairs telling her that Caleb was actually coming. She came upstairs and was like “Caleb you blew it!” lol. She was obviously in on the secret too. It all worked out though and I’m happy he at least tried to surprise me. 🙂

22. CAN’T BONG A BEER

I know this one is very weird and kind of inappropriate if you’re under the age of 21, but I thought I would share this hilarious fact. I just can’t bong a beer. My friends have this hilarious video of me where I try to and end up spitting the beer all over the kitchen. They still crack up and send me the video randomly because they think it’s hilarious.

Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me a little better! I would love to know more about you too! Leave me a comment saying a random fact about yourself 🙂
